Hello all .. I’m back to my blog after almost 4 months .. I really had faded in oblivion .. Work and hence life is keeping me very busy and I’m also facing a huge writer’s block .. But I guess Krishna Bhagwan came to my help to subside my writer’s block ..

I’m not gonna write a whole new post but on this holy and pious evening, I would like to share one of my old posts which I wrote two years ago on the same day and almost at the same time ..

‘Shor mach gayare shor, Dekho aaya Makhanchor;

Nand Gher Anand Bhayo, Bolo Jai Kanaiya Lal ki’

Yeah, it’s time to celebrate Janmashtmi (Gokulashtimi) .. It’s 11:48 PM right now and at the stroke of midnight, our own Lord Krishna will take a birth this year once again .. Well, I am feeling so religious right now and I am so excited for the birth of Krishna Bhagwan .. Lord Krishna is one of the most prominent gods of Hinduism and he is worshipped all over world wherever there is a Hindu population .. For me, being a Vaishnav, Krishna Bhagwan plays a very important role in my daily life .. Every morning when I wake up or Every night before I hit the bed, it has become my common routine to say ‘Jai Shree Krishna’ (Long Live Lord Krishna) .. When I hang up the phone while talking to mom-dad or other relatives, last statement I say is ‘Jai Shree Krishna’ .. While welcoming guests at our home, we greet them saying ‘Jai Shree Krishna’ .. So my day starts, continues and ends with ‘Jai Shree Krishna’ ..

(It’s 11:58 PM and now I think I will head towards my temple to wish him Happy Birthday .. My mom at Ahmedabad will be putting new clothes on baby Krishna idol and must be giving him swings in his jhula to celebrate his birth .. I will be back in 5 min)

I am back .. Watching Krishna Janam(Birth) live from his birthplace Mathura on Sanskar Channel !! .. Enjoying it !! ..

Well, Krishna Bhagwan’s character has always fascinated me .. He is that kind of God with whom any human being can connect him/herself very closely .. I feel that all other gods are just too ideal and faultless .. You just worship them as gods but for Krishna, you feel worshiping him more as your friend, philosopher and guide rather than a God .. The stories of Krishna’s childhood and youth tell of his mischievous pranks as Makhan Chor (butter thief), his foiling of attempts to take his life, Raslilas with Gopis, teen-age crush on Radha and his role as a protector of the people of Vrindavana. So you feel that you are connected to his character very much and all these pranks you must have undergone once in your life time for sure ..

During the Kurukshetra war of Mahabharata, upon arriving at the battlefield, and seeing that the enemies he would soon fight against were people close to him prior to the battle, Arjun becomes doubtful and skeptical about fighting. Krishna then advises him about the battle, about the dharm-adharm, about relation and duties, with the conversation soon extending into a discourse which was later compiled as the Bhagwad Gita .. Bhagwad Gita depicts a perfect and optimal way to have prosperous, affluent, peaceful, healthy, wealthy, effective and efficient life .. I recommend you all to go through Bhagwad Gita once irrespective of your religion, region, cast, creed .. Rather than connecting Bhagwad Gita to Hinduism, basically it is considered related to life’s philosophy and a manner or method to live your life and to apply the best approach for the same .. It just shows and explains some phenomenal concepts which everyone must at least go thru ..

My SMS inbox is pouring with SMSes from my friends-relatives wishing me Happpy Janmashtimi so let me get back to them ..

So before we depart, let us chant loudly:

‘Haathi Ghoda Palkhi, Bolo Jai Kanaiya Lal Ki’

Happy Birthday Krishna Bagwan !!

my favorite festival Makar-Sakranti (14th Jan) when whole of Gujarat go onto their terraces, fly kites and shout ‘Katta’ – ‘Lapettt’ etc etc with some loud music and delicious Undhiyu-Puri ..

Work has kept me busy this time .. But I may go to Ahmedabd on 15th to enjoy the second day as people of Gujarat do not find one day enough to celebrate kite flyin .. On 15th also, the festival is celebrated with the same zeal and joy ..

Let us see how it turns out .. But right now I’m in office and I can visualize all my friends flying kites and enjoying the terrific atmosphere ..

Do I envy them ? .. Oh yes, I sure do !!

Hello all .. Well, these two days 14Th and 15Th January were awesome and fascinating .. We all celebrated this festival with great zeal, enthusiasm and fun .. Our old home resides in the constituency of our Honorable CM Narendra Modi .. So he graced the occasion by spending few kite-flying moments with us .. I guess the pictures below will tell the story how I celebrated my ‘THE FAVOURITE’ festival in Ahmedabad ..

[ People on their terraces - all smiling and cheering - Look how full the sky is with kites !! ]

[ Friends - Guy with the cap is your highness Soham - LOL !! ]

[ I am in Action ]

[ Dad - Busy tying the kinya to the kite ]

[ Mom - Enjoying Makar-Sakarnti to the fullest ]

[ Honorable Narendra Modi enjoying kite-flying with its own people ]

[ Modiji in Action ]

[ Time for a picture with 'Gujarat ka Sher' - 'CEO of Gujarat' - 'The truly a CM (Common Man)' - Mr. Narendra Modi]

Hello everyone .. It’s been a long gap between the posts .. well, frankly I could not find anything interesting to pen down since the new year started .. Yeah, but the sad part is, the new year started with a very bad, sad and disappointing note ..

Satyam’s scam really shocked the whole India .. How can a chairman of such a reputed and prestigious company think of such cheating and frauds?? .. The Satyam balance sheet was inflated by Rs 5040 crores .. Mr. Raju must be punished severely to set an example in India .. Millions of its share holders are on verge of becoming bankrupt as its shares were hammered by 77% in one day .. Some might have invested their whole life-savings in it .. Some might have invested his/her pension in it .. What about those guys?? .. And the most unfortunate situation is of Satyam’s employees .. They have been made scape goats for no reason – no fault of them .. This fraud has certainly spoiled India’s image world over and which till now was thought of as ‘Safe Investment Land‘ has now been depicted as ‘Cheaters’ Paradise‘ !! .. I hope India’s image, Satyam company itself, its employees ans its share holders come out of this trauma soon !! ..

But the million dollar question is : If a giant company like Satyam is involved in such a huge scam, whom to trust now ?? .. Where will people go ?? .. Where do they invest money ?? .. After all, everything depends on trust these days !! .. God bless India and its people !!

Well, on a happy part, I am heading to Ahmedabad for my favorite festival Uttarayan / Makar Sakranti .. Gujarat is a land where life is meant for celebration, joy and zeal .. So we, gujjus, fly kites all day long on 14th January and 15th January to celebrate makar sakaranti .. Old and young, children and aged, men and women , poor and rich – everybody will be on their terraces on these two days flying kites and shouting ‘kaata kaataaa’ .. There will be no complaints of scorching heat, freezing cold, deadly pollution, irritating horns on the road, never-ending traffic signals, bumper-to-bumper traffic or India-Pak war .. Instead there will be fun, party, enthusiasm, smiles, laughs and at 7-00 PM on 15Th January, there will be tears in eyes as the sun has set, moon has started to peek, those bright light has been overcome by little darkness and now there will be no more kite flying till next year .. A long long journey to make like an eternity ..I’m so much happy and excited to celebrate it ..

So in my next post, I will post my Uttarayan experience with some snaps taken by me !! .. Till then have fun and take care .. And if you are planning to fly the kites, then play safe and be careful !!

Yeah .. August & September, these two months are full of festivals and events .. First there was 15Th August – our independence day .. Then we just bid adieu to the great festival of Janmashtmi and we are back to celebrate one another auspicious occasion which is full of fun, joy and zest .. Yup, it’s time to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi ..

Lord Ganesh is also one of the prominent gods of Hinduism .. We worship Lord Ganesh before commencing any new work, business, ventures or studies .. This festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in a grand style and by milions of people throughout India but the state Maharashtra has got its unique style of celebrating it like a big carnival .. One can see millions of people literally walking, dancing, singing in a procession on the road by lifting Ganeshji‘s idol on their shoulders and then immersing it in the lake, river or ocean whichever is of convenience .. This process is knows as Ganesh Visargan .. It’s always fun to watch it in Mumbai ..

So let us all say : Ganapathi Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukar ya

Holy festival of Paryushan of Jainism is also going on these days .. I studied in a Jain school and most of my school and college friends are Jain too .. My wife is also Jain so I have got some good knowledge about Jainism too .. I know Navkar Mantra and I recite it every day along with other prayers .. Jain people restrain from eating onion, garlic, potato and other green vegetables during the days of Paryushan .. Some do fasting for 3 days, some for 8 days and some even continue fasting for 16 days .. In Jainism, during fasting only boiled water is allowed to have and that too before sunset .. This is really tough – really really hard .. My taste buds always overpower my brain and my heart so I cannot fast .. Not for a day – not even a half day .. Fasting is not my cup tea .. On the last day of Paryushan, they wish Michhami Dukkadam to everybody .. The meaning of Michhami Dukkadam is : Intentionally or unintentionally if I have hurt you anytime then I ask for your forgiveness for the same ..

Happy Paryushan to all and Michhami Dukkadam to you all too !!

For Muslims, the holy and auspicious month of Ramzan(Ramadan) is also beginning .. So Happy Ramzan to all the Muslim brothers worldwide ..

So enjoy the fun of festivals .. Feel fresh, relaxed, calm, joyous, jolly, cheerful and happy during the festive season .. Holidays in the school, office etc will be the icing on the cake .. So have fun guys !!!

Hurrraaayyyy..I am going to Ahmedabad tonight…Today it’s time to celebrate ‘Holi‘ – festival of colours…But what I am doing right now???Instead of splashing Gulal(Nontoxic, risk-free and safe Coloured Powder), coloured water and water-filled small balloons on my friends and relatives, I am sitting in my cubicle, staring at the stupid 17-inch LCD screen and writing this blog…We don’t have a holiday today..Instead we have a holiday on Monday as it is the day on which noble leader and great fighter Chhatrapati Shivaji was born.

Hence I have a long weekend (i.e. Saturday, Sunday and Monday) to spend in Ahmedabad – my native megacity..So I guess this might surely compensate for my today’s loss and the grief I am having of not getting a holiday on HOLI…

Actually I go to Ahmedabad almost every alternate weekend but this time I have got several reasons to be more happy and joyful for my trip:

  1. Instead of only Saturday and Sunday, I will be getting three days to spend with my family and friends…And also no more getting up early on Monday morning…that means more sleep and more sleep and more sleep…I do hate getting out of bed on Monday morning…Getting-up-early sucks big time…I am surely a Sleep-Loving character…
  2. Three nights in ahmedabad..I am going to grab this opportunity to try my hands on variety of food..One night I may opt for ‘Punjabi Cuisine’…One night I may go for ‘Gujarati Thali’ and last one will fall into the category of ‘Chinese+Mexican+Continental’..All these delicious and mouth-watering dishes will be accompanied by PaniPuri+Chaat+Vada-Pav etc etc which are bound to present their mark on my menu during evening and lunch time…Sounds yummy, huh…I am complete foodie so as Chitrali-my wife and my dad…I am not a voracious eater and I do have a very small appetite but I love trying new food and dishes…
  3. My mom called me yesterday night and she told me that my marriage photo album has at last arrived after two months of time but she also conveyed that the photograph has put some real toiling efforts and labour in creating the album and,you know what,it has turned out be really stunning and out-of-this world…She sounded so happy and excited..I am so much eager and anxious to watch all the photos decorated with I-Don’t-Know what but I am being impatient now…Raring to gooooo…Feeling restless!!!…

I hope my long-weekend trip turns out to be an amazing one…So wishing you all a Happy Holi…Do enjoy this festival of colours with great zeal and enthusiasm but be careful and avoid using toxic and poisonous colour powders instead use water and Gulal…

By the way, someone just told me that a unique position of the moon is going to happen this Friday and hence three different festivals of three very different religions which follow different calendars would occur on the same day…Holi – the festival of Hindus, Id-e-Milad- the festival of Muslims and Good Friday – the festival of Christians will happen on the same day on this Friday(i.e. Today)…Really a unique, blessed and sacred day…

In the next post, I will come up with my wedding ceremony photos…Till then have a great weekend and once again happy Holi – Eid – Good Friday :-)
